I heard exploration and came running! Kaito is a pretty solitary type so his affinity with other loners tends to be a bit stronger than regularly-adjusted folks. Chalk it up to also self-persecuting himself into thinking he doesn't belong among regular people

But also he'll (ironically, yes) be right there to start planting the seeds of "hey actually you're probably fine and can make good friends with the normies"

Free side of him giving advice while blatantly not following it is optional but encouraged, I love letting my son be a hypocrite

Hahaha! Kainé can be a hypocrite at times too. She claims she doesn't like people but really she's lonely. He sounds like the exact type she'd end up feeling secure around and befriending since they share similar experiences I guess?

Kainé mainly things he sdoesn't belong because she's afraid she'll hurt someone with her being Shade possessed in addition to what she's been told her entire life (That she's a freak)

Sure we could have them meet up and maybe explore a bit? Once Kainé finds a more safe location (if she needs to stay near the city) she'll probably make a camp outside. He's welcome to come bother her there lol

Yeah! Brusque on the outside, Really McFuckin Lonely on the inside, and thinking they're a burden/problem/dangerous for other people at the core. I definitely see Kaito warming up to her out of those shared core traits.

I'm still getting to know all the worldbuilding and the other players, so I don't have any super concrete plans for Kaito yet. That means I can be flexible and throw him at Kainé whenever she digs her heels in and makes camp.

Are you canon familiar with Nier? Kainé likes to eat. She and her companions were supposed to go on a journey after everything was said and done and Kainé said she was gonna eat more than her share so Nier better be ready to pony up lol.

Yeah! I didn't personally play Replicant, but I watched a playthrough a few years ago. lmfao Kainé can eat as much as she wants, so long as Kaito has ingredients he'll play buffet chef and make Everything
