Pretty much the only thing that matters timeline wise for him is he's about a year into the Blank Period and therefore a year older and Kakashi is taking the Hokage spot to keep it warm for Naruto. Shikamaru cares about 0% about other people's romantic lives so he definitely wouldn't bring anything about who was dating who up to Naruto! No problems or worries there.
