is the hanahaki only soothed by native healers/doctors, or can PCs also fashion effective soothing (but not curing) answers for it?

and would it be officially winter in stygia, ie are most plants/trees "dead" aside from... greenhouses and the like? i'm confused on if everything's still growing despite the colder weather or not.
