The man has plenty of scars already, a few more won't hurt. The usual bruises and such are fine too, maybe a cracked rib at the worst?

As for fighting back, Cedrik will try to summon Fray/Esteem, though he would only last long enough to take a swing if that because of unreliable magic. Other than that it will probably be a straight up fist fight.
